Sweet Beginnings: My Partnership with Foxes Den Meadery
I never imagined that a simple inquiry would turn into such a sweet partnership, but that’s exactly what happened when I reached out to Rico at Foxes Den Meadery. Initially, I contacted him to see if he’d be interested in selling my honey at his business. From there, our conversation took an exciting turn. We started talking about the possibility of using my SlowGold Honey to create something truly special—a unique mead that would showcase the quality of the honey I produce. That’s how this collaboration began, and it’s been an exciting journey ever since.
The Birth of Red Gold Raspberry Mead
Our inaugural creation together is the Red Gold Raspberry Mead, and I couldn’t be more proud of it. It’s a semi-sweet mead with a delicious raspberry flavor that really stands out. When Rico and I started brainstorming what type of mead we wanted to make, I knew I wanted to do something different—something I didn’t see a lot of people making. Raspberry seemed like the perfect choice because it offers that bright, slightly tart taste that pairs beautifully with the sweetness of the honey. And, let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a good raspberry flavor?
This mead is just the beginning... We’re already talking about what could be next. I’m thinking blueberry might be our next adventure, so join our email list to be the first to know about new product launches!
How To Enjoy Red Gold Mead
If you’re wondering how to best enjoy the Red Gold Raspberry Mead, I’d say it’s perfect as a dessert mead. It’s the kind of drink you want to savor at the end of a meal or when you’re visiting friends. The balance of sweetness and fruitiness makes it ideal for those cozy, intimate moments when you just want to relax and enjoy something special. It’s also a great conversation starter—a unique drink that’s sure to impress your guests on special occasions.
Want to Try It? Here’s How:
If you’re eager to give it a try, you can head over to Foxes Den Meadery for a tasting, or you can grab a bottle to take home. They are located at 101 S. Bridge St. in Yorkville, Illinois.
But a word of advice: don’t wait too long! This mead is only available until it sells out, and once it’s gone, it’s gone. I’m so excited to share this creation with you, and I hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it.
More Than Just Mead: SlowGold Honey at Foxes Den
In addition to the mead, you can also find my SlowGold Honey available at Foxes Den Meadery. I offer a variety of options—different jar sizes, honey sticks, and squeeze bottles—so you can take home some of that same honey used in the mead.
Looking Ahead
This partnership with Foxes Den Meadery is just getting started, and I’m excited about what’s to come. We’ve had a great time creating the Red GoldRaspberry Mead, and with new ideas like blueberry on the horizon, I’m confident there’s more deliciousness on the way. If you’re a fan of unique, high-quality meads or just curious to try something new, I encourage you to visit Foxes Den and experience the results of our epic collaboration.
