Frequently Asked Questions & FYI's
We are so proud of our bees, our harvesting process and of course the end products! Here is a little more information, as well as some frequently asked questions about us and our honey!
1
Where do you get your honey?
Right here in our own backyard! We take great care in producing high-quality honey. Our honey is always 100% pure and natural, with no additives or preservatives.
2
Is your honey raw or pasteurized?
Our honey is always raw and unfiltered, which means it retains all the natural enzymes and beneficial properties that can be lost during the pasteurization process. Raw honey also has a thicker consistency and a more complex flavor than pasteurized honey.
3
What is honeycomb?
Honeycomb is the wax structure that bees build in their hives to store honey and raise their young. It is made up of hexagonal cells that are filled with honey, pollen, and larvae. Honeycomb is not only delicious to eat but also has many health benefits, such as anti-inflammatory properties and antioxidants.
4
Can I eat honeycomb?
Yes, you can eat honeycomb! In fact, many people enjoy eating it as a sweet and nutritious snack. Honeycomb can be chewed like gum or spread on toast or crackers. It's also a great addition to cheese boards and charcuterie plates.
5
How should I store my honey?
Honey should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. It does not need to be refrigerated, as long as it is kept in a sealed container. Over time, honey may crystallize, but this is a natural process and does not affect the quality or taste of the honey. To liquefy crystallized honey, simply place the container in warm water until the crystals dissolve.
6
Do you offer bulk discounts?
Yes, we offer discounts on bulk orders of honey and honeycomb. These can make great wedding, corporate and other event gifts! Please contact us for more information on pricing and availability.
